Get here by transit: a widget for your website
For venues, museums, theaters, restaurants, hotels and event pages in Massachusetts. Add one line to your site and visitors get a box that asks where they're starting. They tap the button and get one clear plan to you by train, subway, bus or ferry, with live times.

Code for your site
Paste it where the box should appear, for example in a WordPress "Custom HTML" block or a Squarespace "Code" block.
If your site doesn't allow scripts
Some site builders (Wix, some newsletter and listing tools) only accept an iframe. This version works the same way, without JavaScript.
What visitors get
- One clear plan from where they are to you: what to board, when it leaves, how many stops and where to get off.
- Live times for MBTA trains, subway, buses and ferries, and the published schedules for the regional buses, Amtrak and the island ferries.
- An alert before their stop, so they don't ride past you.
- Their own language. Cobblehop answers in 16 languages.
- Nothing to install. The plan opens in a new tab in their browser, and the first few answers don't need an account.
Privacy and speed
- The widget sets no cookies and makes no network requests until a visitor presses the button.
- It is one small file (under 8 KB) and doesn't load fonts or images.
- The only thing it passes along is a tag with your site's name, so we can count how many plans came from your page.
- The box is keyboard and screen-reader friendly and follows the contrast your visitors need.
Questions
Do I need an account?
No. Copy the code and paste it into your page. There is nothing to sign up for.
Where does it work?
Across Massachusetts: MBTA subway, Commuter Rail, buses and ferries, the regional bus systems, Amtrak and the island ferries, plus nearby trips into Rhode Island and southern New Hampshire.
Can I put more than one on a page?
Yes. Load the script once, then add <div class="cobblehop-widget" data-to="your address"></div> wherever you want a box.
Will it clash with my site's styles?
No. The box keeps its own styles inside a shadow root, so your CSS doesn't change it and it doesn't change your page.
Is Cobblehop the official MBTA app?
No. Cobblehop is an independent app. It uses public data from MassDOT/MBTA and other transit agencies. See About Cobblehop.
Hosting guests rather than visitors?
See Cobblehop for hosts: a guest link and a printable QR card that start the trip at your door.
