About Cobblehop

Cobblehop is an AI transit companion for Massachusetts. You say where you're going. It gives you one clear route and buzzes you before your stop.

What Cobblehop is

Cobblehop plans trips on public transit across Massachusetts. You type or say where you're going in your own words and language, like "Salem", "Fenway Park" or "get me to Logan by 6". You get one route, drawn as a visual card: what to board, when it leaves, a leave-in countdown, the stops, when you arrive and the walking at each end.

You can also see live departures from a station. Once you're on your way, Cobblehop can start a live ride that follows your train or bus and buzzes before your stop, with vibration, sound, a screen flash and a notification. It keeps your screen awake during the ride and tells you to get to the door one stop early, so you never miss it.

Why it exists

Transit directions are usually a wall of text, or ten options to compare while you're standing on a sidewalk with a bag in your hand. People miss their stop because they're reading, talking or just tired. Cobblehop gives you one plan instead of ten, shows it as a picture you can read at a glance, and watches the stops for you.

Who it's for

Cobblehop is built for visitors and tourists first. It's also for anyone who finds transit confusing: seniors, people with disabilities, people who are still learning English, students, and commuters on a route they don't know.

What it covers

Cobblehop uses live MBTA predictions where they're available and published schedules everywhere else. Times can change, so it never guarantees them.

The company

Cobblehop is built and run by MAUD LLC, a Pennsylvania company founded by Ahmad Haji. Cobblehop is independent. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or operated by the MBTA, MassDOT or any transit agency. Transit data comes from MassDOT/MBTA and other public transit agencies.

The founder

Ahmad Haji founded Cobblehop and writes its transit guides. He's a student who found that asking AI for directions saved him hours, and he built Cobblehop after a trip to Boston and Salem showed him how hard transit still is for visitors. Each guide is checked against the published schedules and links to the official agency pages, so you can confirm the details there.

What's next

Cobblehop works today in any phone browser, and you can add it to your home screen. Native iPhone and Android apps are coming. You can try it without an account, and create one to keep going. When you ask for something Cobblehop can't do yet, like booking a rideshare, it notes the request so we can consider it for future features.
