Halloween weekend tips
- Get to the platform early. On Halloween the platform at Salem fills up. Aim to be there 15-20 minutes before your train.
- Leaving after the drone show? The City of Salem's drone show starts at 10:15 pm, and Bridge Street is closed to traffic from 9:15 pm to 11:30 pm. The 11:14 pm train is the last one, so leave time to get through the crowds.
- No bikes or scooters. Per the MBTA, they aren't allowed on any Newburyport/Rockport Line train on October 31 and November 1.
- Parked at the station? Per the MBTA, cars can't enter or leave the Salem station garage from 6 pm to 11:30 pm on October 31. The City of Salem's notice says 6 pm to 1 am.
- Buses detour. After 6 pm on October 31, MBTA buses 450, 455 and 465 don't serve Salem Depot, per the MBTA.
