Getting there
On Thanksgiving, the Haverhill Line runs a weekend schedule with trains every two hours. The 7:00 am from North Station (it also stops at Malden Center, on the Orange Line) arrives at Andover at 7:50 am. The next train, at 9:00 am, arrives after the start.
From Andover station it's about 1.3 miles to Shawsheen Square, where Routes 28 and 133 meet. Allow 30 minutes on foot, which gets you there around 8:20 am.
- Bibs: race-day pickup is 7 to 8 am at Bill DeLuca Chevrolet in Shawsheen Square, which you can't make from the train. Pick up early at the expo at the Andover/North Andover YMCA, 165 Haverhill St, on Tuesday, Nov 24 and Wednesday, Nov 25 (from 12 pm; check the race site for closing times).
- Kids' fun run: 7:45 am at Balmoral Park. The train gets in too late for it.
Thanksgiving schedule, Thursday, November 26
The subway, Silver Line and buses run a Sunday schedule. Commuter Rail runs a weekend schedule, so most lines have a train only every two hours. The MBTA's current schedule has no ferry trips that day.
The times on this page come from the MBTA's published schedule data. The MBTA hasn't posted its Thanksgiving notice yet (as of November 5), so check again the day before.
